My parents, Gregg and Shelley Dedrick, arrived on Friday the 18th and left on Wednesday the 23rd. It was so great to have them here to see where we live. It also allowed me and Zack to be a tourist in our city. These are some pictures from our travels with them.
This first picture is the Radcliff Camera, which is apart of the Bodleian Library. This is probably the most recognized building in Oxford.

This is Magdalen College. This is the college that C.S. Lewis taught at. They also have a deer park in the college...yes deer that roam some fields in the back.

This is Christ Church College. It is the most famous college here.

For anyone that is a Harry Potter fan, this is where they filmed most of the movie. This is the dining hall they used.

We took a day trip into the Cotswalds. The Cotswalds are a southern region in England. A lot of the little towns are preserved from the 1500-1600's. The first town we stopped in was Bibury. We rented a car to go to them, which means my Dad was driving for the first time on the left side of the road! It made for some good adventures, especially trying to figure our the roundabouts. My dad kept spouting the quote, "Look kids, Big Ben!" from Chevy Chase European Vacation. He did a great job driving, minus one little slip up in scuffing the hub cap on the curb :)

The church in Bibury.

I love this picture... so funny!

People still live in these houses!

I thought this sign was quite funny :)

Mom, Dad, and Zack strolling the streets of Bibury.

This town was called Burford. It was more of a shopping town. We had some great food! First we went and bought several different kinds of cheeses and ate it on a bench. Then we went to a restaurant and had afternoon tea, which turned out to be a lot of food!

The Afternoon Tea.

We then went and visited C.S. Lewis' house. I didn't take pictures of the inside because I took a bunch when Zack and I went last time.

Well, these are just little snapshots of our time with my parents. What aren't in the pictures was them helping us settle our little home. Zack found a great deal online and we bought two loveseats and a chair from a very nice British man. So with the rented car, him and Zack went to pick them up. The only problem was the car was to short for the furniture. So when they returned to the flat they had furniture hanging out the back of the car and tied to the top! My dad has a great picture of it. Overall, we had great food, saw some great things, and had great time together. Thanks mom and dad!
